With the objective of proposing, defining and leading guiding policies for the training of professionals in the area, last Thursday, June 6, the 2nd Ordinary General Assembly and the first of the year 2019 of the Association of Chilean Kinesiology Schools and Careers was held. , an occasion that included the participation of state and private universities.

On the occasion, the current board of directors was also defined, where the Director and academic of the Kinesiology career at the University of La Serena, Dr. Alfredo Gary Bufadel, was appointed as a member of the Board of Directors and delegate of the Northern Area (XV , I, II, III and IV region) of the association.

For Alfredo Gary, it is very important to be part of the ASECK board not only personally, but also for the University. “It is an honor to represent our institution as a founding partner, director and representatives of the northern zone. As a state university we have an obligation and commitment to our students and community, so we must work to position ourselves in all areas that can generate positive impacts on our society,” he noted.

The ASECK was created in August 2016 within the framework of the XX National Kinesiology Congress held in Valdivia at the Austral University of Chile, an institution that organized the first meeting of School Directors, where it was agreed to form a Network that would institutionally associate all schools in the country.

The course is aimed at all academics who are starting out in academic publishing and who, ideally, have previous input that can be published. The topic of said inputs must be related to teaching in higher education.

This activity, which is part of a cycle of events aimed at postgraduate students, lasts 16 face-to-face hours, divided into 4 days of intense work, which include practical work based on real papers, theory and tips to understand the publications process.

“It is aimed at postgraduate students who work in programs where research is required, for example, master's degrees in science, doctoral students; It will allow them to be prepared to write high-impact academic articles, it is a technique that must be learned and developed and that must be discovered,” highlighted Rojas-Méndez, who emphasized the need to know the basic aspects to write optimally.

The purpose of the course is to know the rules of academic publications to be able to publish, feel confident to carry out writing and writing work in a way that is acceptable in recognized journals, and learn to review and improve macro and micro aspects of the writing a manuscript.
