peace time

The activity was implemented by the PACE ULS Higher Education Support (AES) area.

The Higher Education Support Area (AES) of the Support and Effective Access to Higher Education Program (PACE) of La Serena University, carried out the second module of the psychoeducational workshop “Time Organization”, aimed at first and second year students. of the Pedagogy career in Basic General Education.

pace2 timeThe objective of this instance is that the students can use and optimize their time, through the information that is provided by the workshop executors, in addition to promoting the organization of time to optimize their academic performance. In this regard, María de Los Ángeles Bonilla expressed that "our goal as a program is that our students manage to internalize the knowledge obtained in these two sessions and can implement it into their daily routines."

The workshop was guided by two practicing psychologists from the PACE Program, Eduardo Carrera and Fernanda Benavente, who were in charge of explaining the dynamics applied to the students. “In this session we apply the Eisenhower matrix, which is divided into two main axes: the urgency of the task and the importance of the task. Depending on whether a task is more or less important and more or less urgent, it will be located in one of the 4 quadrants into which the matrix is divided. Its importance, the importance of the task, has to do with the objectives you set. Is this task important to achieve my objective? Does it make you closer to what you really want to achieve? “With these workshops, we want students to understand the importance of managing their own time,” Carrera said.

pace3 timeRegarding this workshop, student Magaly Espinoza stated that “I find them very appropriate and pertinent, since the biggest problem for us first-year students is precisely the study habit, being able to plan and perform adequately in each subject; “It is very good that the PACE program carries out these types of workshops.”

Regarding the completion of professional practices within the PACE program, Carolina Cerpa, teacher in charge of supervising the Psychology practices, stated that “the program is a good practice center, especially in the area of educational psychology, since allows them to visualize and be able to experience different experiences, such as in the field of university life and, on the other hand, the fact that they are students of this same house of higher education allows them to have a level of internal and cultural knowledge, which favors them in the possible interventions they make, such as the proposals they make to their work plan.”
