The academics of the Department of Biology of the University of La Serena, Drs. Francisco Squeo and Renzo Vargas, recently launched the book ''Natural History of the Tricahue Parrot in Northern Chile'', a text that seeks to document the natural history of the Tricahue parrot in a graphic way and with concise stories that present the knowledge acquired throughout of the project carried out by both researchers.

''We concentrate our stories in the North, due (…) to the need to report locally. Starting from the premise that nobody keeps what they do not value and nobody values what they do not know, we undertake this task that we hope will take us to every corner of the Tricahue's distribution area to tell children and adults, students and businessmen and above everything to decision makers, why we have to conserve the Tricahue, why it represents a marvel of animal evolution and what is the value and meaning it has for society,'' the scientists say in this publication from Editorial Universidad from La Serena.
