The President of the Supreme Court of Justice, Hugo Dolmestch, visited the University of La Serena, on which occasion he gave the master class “Judicature and Democracy” within the framework of the commemoration of the fifth anniversary of the Law degree, in addition to holding a meeting with the Rector of the university, Dr. Nibaldo Avilés, authorities and representative of the Student Center of the undergraduate program assigned to the Faculty of Social and Economic Sciences.

The Rector of the ULS, Dr. Nibaldo Avilés, highlighted the visit of the President of the Supreme Court “who has come to the fifth anniversary of the Law program of our University, which is on the verge of its first generation of graduates. I think his presence is very significant, the words and the message he delivered, especially to the students, generated a lot of meaning and allowed them to see that the profession has many aspects, and these are of great interest to young people."

Germán Solís, who indicated that for this undergraduate program “it is very important that the highest judicial magistrate of our country and the third at the national level come to celebrate these five years of our young career that is already on the verge of taking its first graduates, and also the importance that the students themselves have been part of this organization and that the President of the Most Excellent Supreme Court has given them a vocational message, a message of democratic responsibility and ethical responsibility that the lawyer must develop in his professional life , that seems very important to us.”

For this reason, it was important that other authorities also attended, so that they understood and bonded, that they did not see the idea of ​​the Judiciary or the courts so far away as abstract, but rather to see them closer and begin to know little by little what they can do. be, from next year, the world of work where we are going to end up practicing.”
