The event was held at the Gregorio Cordovez High School and several establishments participated.

With a large call, the IV Hermann Niemeyer Fernández Regional Science Congress was held, an event that had the participation of different educational establishments from the Coquimbo Region and where they had the opportunity to present their research projects.

science congress2The activity took place in the conference room of the Liceo Gregorio Cordovez and also included presentations by special guests, such as the journalist and lawyer specializing in astronomy, Hernán Julio, who spoke about the Solar Eclipse 2019, and the academic from Department of Biology of the University of La Serena and Executive Director of the Laboratory for Research and Technological Innovation for Science Education, Francisco López, who presented the talk "Cellfie-ULS System for capturing, labeling, managing and publishing photographs taken through of an optical microscope using a mobile device”.

For the rector of the high school, Mario Rojas, it was a great opportunity to learn about the experiences of young people in the world of science, highlighting the high-level research carried out by the participating schools.

The establishments that were present were the American School, the Catholic English School, the María de Andacollo School, the Jorge Alessandri High School, the Samuel Román Rojas High School in Combarbalá, the Andrés Bello Pampa School, the Andrés Bello Centro School and the Miguel de Cervantes School in Coquimbo.
