On the occasion, the group made up of University officials announced their new directives and future work ideas.

The Rector of the University of La Serena, Dr. Nibaldo Avilés, received a visit from the group “Deportivo 26 de Agosto”, whose members presented the new board, recently elected.

During the meeting, the group made up of officials from the school presented their next work ideas, among which they include adding female officials to the group in order to participate in sports activities.

The new board will be in office for 2 years and its main objective is to create spaces so that the members of “Deportivo 26 de Agosto” can practice sports and represent the study house.

The president of the sports team and official of the Civil Works Department, Fernando Astudillo, referred to the work they want to do as the group's new board of directors. “The first project is to participate in a sports activity near Carrizalillo and, later, in March, start with a more structured work program, such as inviting female officials to join Deportivo,” he explained.
