The postgraduate program has a professional character and its objective is to train high level specialists in the use of tools for the solution of problems in the field of Engineering.
The second version (2014) of the Master's program in Computational Mechanics of the University of La Serena was successfully launched, as well as the continuation, in its second year, of the first version (2013).
Professionals from different national companies and from different disciplines of the engineering area participate in this program. The postgraduate program has a professional character and its objective is to train high level specialists in the use of tools for the solution of problems in the field of Engineering, using finite numerical methods and computer simulations. Emphasis in applications to the characterization of fluid mechanics, heat transfer and the design of equipment and processes. This in areas of mining, metalworking, energy, environment and food.
The teaching-learning process is developed with a face-to-face methodology, theoretical and laboratory instruction that includes as a support a platform for virtual classes and another for e-Learning, to accompany the participants synchronously and asynchronously. The program lasts for 4 academic semesters and those responsible for its execution are the academics of the Department of Mechanical Engineering: engineer Dr. Mauricio Godoy Seura, (program director), engineer Dr. Carlos Garrido Soto and engineer Dr. Phd. Nelson Moraga Benavides (coordinators).
