They hold the Second Meeting of Alumni of Mine Execution Engineering and Civil Engineering of Mines ULS 2019

Those present remembered their time at the University and were grateful for the opportunity to continue the tradition of meeting and continuing to be part of the community of the Department of Mining Engineering and the Faculty of Engineering of the University of La Serena, FIULS.

An emotional day marked by memories, laughter and anecdotes was experienced at the II Meeting of Alumni of Civil Mining Engineering and Mining Execution Engineering of the University of La Serena. The activity was also attended by authorities from the university, who shared and enjoyed with students and alumni.

mining dinner2During the celebration, the Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, Dr. Ing. Mauricio Godoy, greeted those present and thanked “the students of the Civil Engineering Student Center in Mining who organized this meeting, thanks to this instance We can meet again and share experiences. The graduates are part of our community and family, and we can seek new possibilities for mutual help and working together, since they are an important part of our FIULS community.”

For his part, the Director of the Department of Mining Engineering, Dr. Eng. Alberto Cortés, indicated: “I thought this day was excellent, and I would like to highlight the presence of Engineer Luis Núñez, he was the one who trained me in Mining Engineering, We are very grateful for your presence. On the other hand, this initiative allowed us to share with the graduates, whom we ourselves trained and who are now managers, mine superintendents, and with whom we have strong ties. Today they open the doors to our students for their practices and memories.”

mining dinner3For her part, Natalia Aguirre, civil mining engineer and former student of the University of La Serena, expressed: “my experience has been good, since I have seen the interest that the University has in its graduates and graduates, with activities and tools. that they give us. Regarding the mining dinner, it was a very special activity since I was able to learn the vision of the mining world from the perspective of the most experienced in the field and this allowed the exchange of stories from different generations. Without a doubt, I would attend again.”

On the day, a special recognition was given to each of the graduates and also to the authorities present.
