Academic presents at the International Tourism Seminar in San Juan

The Mg. Andrés Álvarez presented "Innovation, Learning and Change".

Generating new strategies that serve to energize tourism activity, enhance competitiveness and promote sustainable development, was the central objective of the First National Conference on Tourism, Hotels and Gastronomy held in San Juan, Argentina, in which the Director of the course of Engineering in Business Administration from the University of La Serena, Mg. Andrés Álvarez was invited to participate and present the experience carried out on campus.

alavarez2The First National Day of Tourism, Hospitality and Gastronomy, San Juan 2019, had a massive participation and attendance of students, professionals, academics, researchers, entrepreneurs, institutions and companies, who participated in order to generate new strategies that serve to energize tourism activity, enhance competitiveness and promote sustainable development.

The organization of the event was in charge of the Ministry of Tourism and Culture of the Province of San Juan and ACETur San Juan, Civil Association of Tourism Students. In this way, the Ministry of Tourism and Culture invited Mg. Andrés Álvarez to share his experience, who spoke on "Innovation, Learning and Change."

For the ULS academic, the experience allowed him to deliver the guidelines developed on innovation and entrepreneurship: “our experience in training topics drew a lot of attention for including the topic of entrepreneurship and innovation as a subject within the curriculum in favor of the comprehensive training of professionals linked to tourism,” he stated.

Likewise, within the framework of this international seminar held on August 29, 30 and 31, the Governor of the Province of San Juan, Sergio Uñac, invited the academic from the University of La Serena to meet and talk about the different perspectives tourism opportunities that the Province of San Juan has in the astro-tourism area and the real promotion of the province towards other latitudes.

The link that exists between the University of La Serena and specifically the Business Administration Engineering career together with the Province of San Juan, will be strengthened with the signing of the agreement with the National University of San Juan, which seeks to allow academic synergy and student through constant exchange of knowledge that allows increasing the scope of tourism as a factor of social and economic development at the country level.
