This is a theoretical study by Professor Gabriel Gálvez Silva, from the Department of Music.

The recently published number 65 of Aisthesis, Chilean Journal of Aesthetic Research (PUC Institute of Aesthetics, Elsevier, SciELO) incorporates an article emanating from the Department of Music of the ULS Faculty of Humanities. This is “For an archeology of consciousness: the cardinality of music in María Zambrano”, a theoretical study by Professor Gabriel Gálvez Silva where he aims to illuminate the paradigmatic or cardinal role of music within the work of the Spanish philosopher.

Considering the transformation undergone by the exiled Zambrano's speech, in accordance with the Unamunian concept of metarrhythmias, the academic's investigation focuses especially on how the thinker makes the figure of Antigone her own, buried alive, as an exemplification of a sacrificial “surrender to time” that enables this musical metamorphosis.
