This instance allows us to have a global vision of how innovation in technologies is revolutionizing universities.

In order to show the impact of computational simulation tools in engineering education at an international level, “Webinar Series” was carried out. This initiative included the presence of exhibitors from different countries such as Brazil, Colombia, New York, and in Chile, representing the Coquimbo Region, Dr. Yerko Aguilera, an academic from the Department of Mechanical Engineering of the Faculty of Engineering of the University of La Serena

Nowadays engineers have a great variety of software that allow them to create new technological solutions, so there is a potential in the teaching and learning processes. The new challenges invite to develop new skills such as innovation and systemic thinking.

“My presentation was to show how simulations are interrelated to solve industry problems and how we are using them for the deep learning of our students. We have a focus on simulation-based teaching, we solve problems and then we know the results in our virtual laboratories, ”said Dr. Yerko Aguilera.

The Dean of the Faculty of Engineering of the ULS, Dr. Ing. Mauricio Godoy, highlighted “this important initiative that opens us to the world and allows us to know how we are advancing to the forefront of technologies in terms of computational simulation tools . I congratulate our academic and I urge that we continue to participate in these activities that also nourish us with new international experiences. ”

The activity was carried out successfully and in our country there was also the participation of academics from the University of Santiago, the Federico Santa María University, the Catholic University of Valparaíso and the Metropolitan Technological Institute.
