During the activity, the advances in various areas that the Fondap CRHIAM Center has presented during 2019 were announced.

In order to promote interdisciplinary work and provide new solutions to address problems related to water, the management of the Center for Water Resources for Agriculture and Mining (CRHIAM) held a meeting with the main and associated researchers.

The academic from the Department of Mining Engineering of the Faculty of Engineering of the University of La Serena, Dr. Ricardo Oyarzún, participated in the opportunity. Regarding the initiative and goals in the Department of Mines, the professional stressed that “our objective is to strengthen the research activity carried out in the field of water resources within the Environmental Area of ​​the Department, in accordance with the areas of interest of the Department. CRHIAM and the Faculty of Engineering of the ULS.”

In this activity, the ideas on which the center's continuity project for the period 2019-2023 is based were reinforced, and the new researchers who joined this year were also officially welcomed.

The Dean of the Faculty of Engineering of the ULS, Dr. Ing. Mauricio Godoy, highlighted that “for us the research area is very important, since it is among our priorities in the work of the Faculty and we value all the initiatives and instances that promote it, especially our academic for the important work and contribution he makes.”
