For the 2020 enrollment process, students selected after the application process of the Single Admission System (SUA), will have the opportunity to carry out this procedure online, from cell phones and computers, favoring the use of time and reducing the environmental impact that It involves doing the process in person.

The initiative is an example of the integrated management work and social and environmental responsibility of the only state university in the Coquimbo Region.

The Head of Admission and Enrollment, Mg. Gonzalo Honores highlighted this innovation, highlighting that “we know that this 2020 Admission has been complex for applicants and as ULS we set out to facilitate the process, streamlining the registration process for our new students.”

The innovation will be available through the userena.cl website, and accessible with the applicant's RUT and DEMRE code. Although the in-person process will be carried out regularly, it is estimated that technological innovation could enthuse many applicants to carry out the process 100% online.

The Director of the Center for Informatics and Computing (CICULS), Andrés Moya, stated that this improvement in the process is an example of the institutional strengths in terms of technological development and, in addition, he specified that “it is consistent with the ICT seal competence that The ULS educational model compromises. It is the first national platform that will be able to capture images and leave evidence of the photographs required to obtain student identification cards.
