Academics from the Department of Psychology met with prominent North American academic

The ULS academics, Dr. Pablo Castro and Mg. Ingrid González, participated in a workshop with Dr. Phillip Zimbrado, emeritus professor at Stanford University, in the city of San Francisco.

Within the framework of the Fondecyt project called "Subjective theories of teachers about school time: its variation according to the years of experience and work contexts" by the academic of the Department of Psychology of the University of La Serena, Dr. Pablo Castro, together with the researchers Mg. Ingrid González (ULS), Dr. Cristian Oyanadel (UdeC) and Mg. David Cuadra (UdA), a working session was held with the emeritus professor of Stanford University and prominent researcher, Dr. Philip Zimbardo, in the city of San Francisco, California.

This meeting was held with the purpose of discussing the research results of the Fondecyt project, managing to integrate the valuable contributions of Dr. Zimbardo, in the understanding of the way in which Chilean teachers theorize about school time. 

“Dr. Zimbardo is a leading social psychologist who has developed research that has contributed to the understanding of human behavior from a social perspective. He is famous for the Stanford jail experiment and, currently, for his time perspective theory, among other valuable contributions”, emphasized Dr. Pablo Castro.

In addition, during the trip, part of the team visited the University of California to meet with the Director of the PhD program in School Psychology of the house of studies, Dr. Frank Worrell, where the researchers presented the main findings obtained in their project. , thus achieving a deeper understanding of how Chilean teachers theorize about school time.
