64% of the young people enrolled in the first stage of the process completed this procedure online.

A total of 1.578 students enrolled in one of the 40 courses offered by the University of La Serena, a process that in its first stage could be carried out completely online, with the aim of optimizing the time of new undergraduate students.

This was explained by the Head of Admission and Enrollment, Gonzalo Honores, who indicated that “this year we enabled the online registration system, which allows the student to carry out the entire process through their computer, cell phone or tablet, in order to make it easier for them. This process; this, added to the in-person registration process.”

For his part, the Director of the Information and Computing Center (CICULS), Andrés Moya, referred to the importance of implementing an online tool that allows the registration process to be carried out. "Today the ULS is a leader in technological management within Chilean universities and this innovation, which includes the entire procedure, including taking photographs for the TNE, confirms its ability to push the State universities to increasingly better levels of management. and service.”

Along with this, the process was carried out in person, which took place at the Ignacio Domeyko Campus, where students and their families were able to resolve various doubts and have help to complete their registration.

One of the students who came to the university to carry out this process was Roosevelt Rivera, enrolled in the Audit program, who referred to the reasons for choosing the University of La Serena to continue his studies. “I chose ULS because it had the career I wanted, and I also feel that being part of a state university is essential when choosing where to train as a professional.”

Along with him, Marta Milla, a student enrolled in the Design program, indicated that “ULS was always my first choice, I didn't study for a year and being able to enter university is something that makes me quite happy.”

The enrollment process included the participation of units such as the Teaching Directorate, the General Directorate of Student Affairs, the Information Technology and Computing Center, the Accompaniment and Effective Access to Higher Education Program (PACE ULS) and the Permanence Support Program. Performance, Leveling and Comprehensive Student Development (APRENDE ULS), among others.

Reapplication Process

The University of La Serena began the call for the re-application process in those careers/programs that have vacancies available and do not have waiting lists. You can review the races and available places at http://admision.userena.cl/repostulaciones.

During this period, only those people who took the PSU for Admission 2020 and/or Admission 2019, who meet the minimum weighting requirements established by the institution, will be able to apply. However, those who have enrolled in any of the universities affiliated with the DEMRE Admission process will not be able to apply.

This process takes place from March 13 to 18, from 09:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and from 14:30 p.m. to 16:30 p.m., in the Admission and Enrollment Department, Benavente 980, Campus Ignacio Domeyko, La Serena .
