Students, graduates and graduates will compete in the ULS Graduate Cup baby soccer championship this year

The event will be the opportunity for players from different generations and races to compete in the tournament that ends on October 8.

August will not only be the start month of the major European leagues. In the Coquimbo Region, the current and former university football stars at the University of La Serena will have their opportunity to shine in the ULS Cup Titulados baby football championship, an event organized by the Graduate Monitoring Office of the house of higher education. , whose work is part of the Alma Mater ULS project, and which will bring together 8 teams made up of students, graduates and graduates of the institution.

The tournament will take place on the baby soccer field of the Andrés Bello Campus (opposite the entrance to the ULS Gymnasium, Avda. Raúl Bitrán 1305, La Serena) from August 18 to October 8, the date on which the final will be played. and the award ceremony will be held.

For now, we can announce that registration is free, will be open between Friday, July 11 and Monday, August 11 and that teams must have a minimum of 5 players and a maximum of 8. 

This will then be the opportunity for those teams from the different generations who have played epic matches in the ULS inter-career tournament to meet again and face the current students of the university corporation, or for football-loving friends from different careers can finally be part of the same dream squad in this institutional tournament. 

The championship will begin with a group phase (G1 and G2), from which the two best teams from each G will emerge, who will form the Gold Group, while the third and fourth places in the first phase will make up the Silver Group. 

Once again, the teams will face each other within the groups, defining who will be present in the Gold and Silver grand final, which will be played on October 8, and who will go for third place in Gold and Silver on Tuesday, the 7th of the same month. All first and second phase matches will be played on Mondays and Wednesdays from 18:30 p.m.

This tournament has the objectives link students, graduates and/or graduates of the University of La Serena with their Alma Mater through recreational and sports activities; ddevelop and promote the sport, as well as the interpersonal relationships of the participants; generate contact networks in favor of the early job insertion of students and graduates; and ddisseminate activities of the ULS Graduate Monitoring Office and its collaborators.

The activity is sponsored by Comercial Peñarol, Peña e Iduya, Aguas del Valle, Óptica D'Ibañez, Coopeuch, Mutual de Seguridad, Covalsa Automotriz, AlpeSport, Delca and Falabella.

As detailed by the Office, the ULS Graduate Cup will be disseminated through mass emails and institutional social networks to a network of6.600 students, 17.000 graduates and 14.600 graduates.
