At the University of La Serena, the 10 Healthy Life Program, which seeks to promote a healthy lifestyle, will be held until November's 2014, in accordance with the "Work with quality of life" program, directed by the Department of Health Welfare. Staff of the ULS Human Resources Division.
A group of officials of the ULS, participates in this interesting initiative of the Ministry of Health of Chile, of a preventive nature and whose purpose is to help people to empower themselves with respect to their own decisions and healthy living habits.
The intervention focuses on addressing the risk factors of noncommunicable diseases, with obesity component, in people at risk of suffering metabolic syndrome between 6 to 54 years and obese women postpartum.
The activities contemplated in this program have been designed and executed by teams of interdisciplinary professionals, tested with adults and children.
The professionals in charge of the program are doctor Pablo Hurtado, nutritionists Tania Ponce and Andrea Cárdenas, as well as psychologist Viviana Cáceres, all belonging to the Dr. Emilio Schaffhauser Family Health Center.
The physical activity will be guided by Professor Juan Pablo Vicencio, three times a week, with 1 hour of duration, and will be held on Monday, Wednesday and Thursday between 18: 00 and 19: 00 hrs., In the Development Room Staff of the Humanities Teaching Support Center (CADH) and, in addition, the Human Resources Physical Conditioning Room (both located on the Isabel Bongard Campus) will be available.
Participation is free of charge for the official of the institution.
