“As a State University we fulfill a social and public role in which we not only train professionals, but we also instill in our students values that aim to work for the public good and help the community. In this context, from the FACSEJ, and specifically from the Audit career, we execute an orientation program to clarify taxpayers' doubts within the framework of the Operation Income 2024 process in which students play a fundamental role in assisting people. that require support,” emphasized Rector Dr. Luperfina Rojas.

During the service on Paseo Balmaceda, the students were assisting taxpayers with questions, who were grateful for the information that these young people provided, making it clear that the work they do is essential with the community. “I found the children's attention to be spectacular and yes, they helped me 100%. Before, my son did the paperwork for me and I was useless, without knowing anything, but now I came here, because today I went to the center and it was impossible; I found out that they were serving on Paseo Balmaceda, I came and the students helped me.”

The auditing program belongs to the Faculty of Social, Business and Legal Sciences and every year it organizes this type of actions that benefit the community.

The School Director of the Audit career, Mg. Romina Galleguillos expressed that “for us this activity is extremely important where we demonstrate the commitment that the university has through the school and our fourth year students with the territory. This action also helps the fourth year students of the career, because it brings young people closer to the professional world as a prior experience of what they are going to have to do in a couple of months, when they graduate.”

Jorge Castellón, a student member of one of the groups that serve taxpayers, said that this opportunity is “a good experience, it is very useful to be able to learn a little more about what Operation Income is, to know the realities of the people and at the same time do as an act of help, our volunteering, so to speak, so that people can also do their tax return correctly. People are particularly aware of what the tax return is, but with the modifications that are made in the service, with the modifications that arise every year, people get a little lost, and that is what we are here for, to guide them. ”said the student.

Finally, the academic in charge of the subject, “Income Tax”, Mg. Alberto Hernández, highlighted that the students are supported by the academic group of the Audit School, and in the event that people require greater attention, we ask them to come to Campo Gabriela Mistral and there the teachers will directly assist the taxpayers. .
