Faculty of Humanities inaugurates renovated facilities for its courses

This is an investment of more than 60 million pesos, intended for reforms in infrastructure, audiovisual systems and specific equipment. 

With the presence of university authorities, headed by the Rector of the University of La Serena, Dr. Nibaldo Avilés, directors of the Faculty of Humanities, academics and students, the inauguration ceremony of the implementation of the English Laboratory of the degree took place. of Pedagogy in English, the Computer Laboratory of the Design degree and the renovation of classrooms and the “Marta Vitar” room, in the academic rooms located in the Teaching Support Center of the Faculty of Humanities (CADH ), on the Isabel Bongard Campus of the ULS. 

This is an investment of more than 60 million pesos, intended for reforms in infrastructure, audiovisual systems and specific equipment with programs and licenses according to the particular requirements and needs of users. 

As pointed out by the dean of the Faculty of Humanities, Dr. María Zúñiga, “one of the purposes of the Faculty is to improve the learning processes of students and the performance of teachers and in that sense, we all deserve a space clean, comfortable and that allows you to work properly depending on the discipline (...). We have invested this important sum of money to fit out rooms and purchase state-of-the-art equipment, and this has to do with the graduation profile. Our students need to know the technologies that they will find in their future workplaces with access to the different ICTs that are used today,” she stated.

In this regard, Dr. Nibaldo Avilés maintained that “what we are seeing today represents a management focused on the permanent improvement of our University and that reflects concern for our students and academics. The renovation of these departments also reflects the important management carried out by the authorities of the Faculty of Humanities, its Dean's Office and departments and is directly linked to the line of modernization that we are promoting." 

With these improvements, focused on the CADH departments, all the Faculty's majors will benefit, mainly Psychology, Education, Design and Pedagogy in English, among others.

After a simple but significant ceremony, attendees took a tour of the renovated facilities.
