Academics from the Design major participate in the Latin American Congress of the specialty

The meeting became a space for debate and reflection and a platform for the development and dissemination of design as a fundamental part of production systems.

Within the framework of the First Latin American Design Congress held in the city of San Juan, Argentina, on October 22, 23 and 24, the academic of the Design career at the University of La Serena, Paulina Tapia Cabrera, Master in Design , University of New South Wales, presented the paper “Experience of Observation in Design”, to numerous Latin American students and teachers linked to the field of design.

This activity was carried out at the meeting held at the Franklin Rawson Museum and was part of a group of other presentations linked to design from the point of view of production systems, innovation, technology and development, with this academic being the only Chilean representative for this Latin American event.

In parallel, the seventh meeting of the Network of Design Careers in Latin American Public Universities (DiSur) was held. This meeting was held on October 23 and 24 in the city of San Juan, Argentina.

The deans and career directors of all Argentine public universities were present at the meeting, the National University of Asunción (Paraguay), the University of the Republic, (Montevideo, Uruguay) and representing the ULS, the teacher and Master attended in Education, José Manuel Aguayo Álvarez, who before the council of deans present represents DiSur for Chile and its network of state universities.

Within the framework agreements of the meeting, the link that design should have with the industry, mobility at the undergraduate, undergraduate and postgraduate level at an international level, collaborative work at the network level and the development of a online publication where the topics developed by the DiSur network are presented.
