Psychology holds graduation ceremony for its sixteenth class of graduates

On the occasion, excited parents and relatives delivered the diplomas of graduates in Psychology and gifts to the graduates of the career.

In the Auditorium of the Coquimbo Campus, the graduation ceremony of the sixteenth class of graduates of the Psychology program of the University of La Serena was held, an event in which the academic vice-rector, Dr. Jorge Catalán, the director were present. of the Department of Psychology, Dr. Mauricio González, the School Director, Dr. Susan Galdames, academics, graduates, family and friends of the graduates of this ULS undergraduate program.

On the occasion, excited parents and family members delivered the graduate diplomas in Psychology and gifts to the graduates present, who also swore their professional commitment to the psychologist's Code of Ethics. 

graduate psychology 2During this emotional act, Dr. Susan Galdames, indicated that “it is always a joy for the School to successfully finish with a group of students each year, each group is special, each group also leaves its mark on the School. Just as we remain in your lives, you also remain in ours.” In addition, the director of the School of Psychology congratulated the families of the new professionals and thanked them for the trust they have placed in the program and the University. 

For his part, Dr. Mauricio González, representing the academics of the program, highlighted that this new promotion is graduating from a program that is currently among the ten best in the country, according to the 2014 University Ranking of the AméricaEconomía magazine, and that has a six-year accreditation. "During the time you were students of our degree, you contributed to the effort we made to achieve these results," said the professor, adding that the new professionals "will always be our ambassadors (...) and they face the challenge of increasing our prestige , to do it well, just as the graduates of previous years have done” and urged them to keep in touch with the career, to innovate in their jobs and to continue improving themselves. 

In this sense, Alexandra Castillo, president of the Student Center, told her colleagues that “I hope they feel the need to continue learning, to continue improving, to continue and always want more. I hope they don't leave with the feeling of already having it all.” 

graduate psychology 3While Beatriz Muñoz, representing the sixteenth generation of the career attached to the ULS Faculty of Humanities, pointed out that "without a doubt, today marks an important milestone in the construction of our life stories, it is neither the end nor the beginning along the way, it is a stage that culminates and that allows us to grow and decide different routes,” commented the new professional.

Distinctions

In this traditional graduation ceremony, three types of distinctions were also presented to the graduates. The prize for the best companion went to Verónica Acuña, the one with the best academic performance at Carolina Gaete, and the one with the best qualification in the Seminary went to Lucía Alucema, Ivanna Ardiles, Valentina Márquez and Yaritza Ortíz.
