In two solemn ceremonies, held in the Ignacio Domeyko Aula Magna, the Faculty of Humanities of the University of La Serena, held its traditional graduation ceremony, an opportunity in which 260 new professionals graduated from the careers assigned to the macrounit.

Regarding this graduation ceremony, the dean of Humanities, Dr. María Zúñiga, expressed that it is “an academic, formal act, culminating in the lives of these young university students, at the same time that it is a heartfelt act and at the same time, happy, because each one is having, deep inside, memories of formal academic situations, as well as moments of camaraderie, of friendship typical of youth and university life."

humanity graduation 2“It is a very significant occasion, first of all, for our graduates, because with this certification that they receive today, unimaginable opportunities are opened to them in the professional context, whether they enter the world of work and perform in their profession, acquiring a know-how, which until now, was proposed in the texts and in conversations with their teachers, or who want to continue postgraduate studies, as a way to solidify the present initial training stage. The two alternatives are compatible and even simultaneously, it depends on the life project that each one has dreamed of and that today has reached the first step of that construction,” he said in his speech.

The dean added that the occasion is also tremendously significant for families, parents, grandparents and all those who make up the immediate or extended family nucleus, as well as for the University, since “our institution is providing society with an important group of professionals. , who exhibit a profile with both specialized competencies and transversal or also called soft competencies, which enables them to perform efficiently in a certain work field, collaboratively integrating teams of productive professionals with a sense of the requirements of their contexts. At this point, I would like to point out that both the placement rates of our graduates and the businesses themselves are high.”
