With an entertaining ceremony where the preschoolers were the protagonists, a new academic year began.
The Los Papayitos Kindergarten began a new school year. That is why a ceremony was organized that was attended by authorities from the University of La Serena, headed by the general director of Student Affairs, Mg. Miguel Zuleta, the coordinator of the Student Welfare Department, Patricia Astroza, officials, students and representatives of the establishment.
The Los Papayitos Garden was born in 2006, given the need for ULS students to have an educational establishment that provides care and knowledge to their children, while they fulfill their academic obligations.
In this regard, Mg. Zuleta valued what the establishment represents for students who are already parents. “Kindergarten is essential in everyone's initial training, there we learn values, soft skills and knowledge, therefore, it is of great help to our students, since they have the children in a garden where they feel comfortable. "They study calmly to be able to achieve their professional degree in the appropriate time," he said.
Likewise, the parent and ULS Pedagogy student, Dangello Villar, highlighted the importance of Papayitos for the care of his daughter, since it makes it easier for her to finish her studies. “It is important, as senior students, we have practice in the morning and classes in the afternoon, so the only garden that has an extension of hours according to these needs is Los Papayitos, so both by choice and by necessity we have our daughter here,” he said.
“This is an important opportunity for the family to participate and see the connection we have with the University. Also so that they appreciate the importance that the garden has for the students and the support we provide, since we try to do the best possible for them," said the director(s) of Los Papayitos, Ana Montecinos, emphasizing the dedication with which Every professional who works in the garden does their job, to give the best for the preschoolers and students of the ULS.
As part of the 2015 welcome, the children offered an artistic presentation specially prepared for the guests, parents and educators. Later they finished the day with a get-together in which they shared with their parents and guests.
