The Adult Preventive Medical Examination (EMPA) is absolutely free for first-year students and to take it they must reserve a time on the platform www.alumnosuls.cl.

For the third consecutive year, the Department of Student Health, dependent on the General Directorate of Student Affairs (DGAE), is carrying out the Adult Preventive Medical Examination (EMPA), and the Oral Health examination for first-year students of the U from La Serena.

In this sense, the head of the Student Health Department, Néstor López, stressed the importance of this benefit for new students, since it allows future health problems to be detected or measures to be taken if a condition already exists. “For 3 years we have been developing the Adult Preventive Medical Examination for all students who entered this year, which is complemented by the oral health examination; These exams are free and we want to achieve coverage of at least 90% of the students,” he stated.

It should be noted that to take the EMPA, students must reserve a time through the website www.alumnosuls.cl and arrive fasting at the time of the exam. For this purpose, a complete team of professionals and fifth-year students of the Nursing program of this university were available.

Finally, doctor Néstor López emphasized the call to all students who entered the ULS this year to take advantage of the opportunity to take the EMPA and the Oral Health exam. “This is an excellent opportunity to help yourself, what is called self-care, which means taking care of personal health for which each person is primarily responsible. Health is the responsibility of each one of us,” he concluded.
