Medals were achieved in both the women's and men's categories.

Five medals in the National University Championship held in Valparaíso were won by the Judo Team of the University of La Serena, where the students of the branch faced representatives of university teams that have a great tradition of development in this martial art.

Julio Ávalos Godoy achieved second place (silver medal) in the less than 90 kg category, competing in the final stages for the medal against a member of the national team of the discipline. Like Ávalos, Matías Veliz Gómez obtained his bronze medal (less than 81 kg category) challenging another representative of the national team. Also in the less than 90 kg category, Sebastián Tapia Largo won a bronze medal for the ULS. While Marco Taucano Araya had an outstanding participation in the novice category, obtaining a creditable fifth place in less than 73 kg.

In women, the presentations of Claudia Collinao Rojas stood out, who won a bronze medal in the less than 63 kg category, and Constanza Larrea Rojas, who also won a bronze medal in the less than 57 kg category.

The Higher Education Sports League is a very important university-level competition in our country, being sponsored by the Ministry of Sports and the National Sports Institute, in addition to being the university competition that unites public sector study houses with the private, with 32 institutions participating throughout Chile.
