In the instance, the representatives of the Alumni Center spoke with the scholarship recipients, recounting their experiences as students and emphasizing that this type of contribution is a great help for their expenses at the University. He also urged the young people who receive this benefit to continue with this initiative as alumni once they have graduated, so that other students can receive these benefits.

Patricia Astrosa, Coordinator of the Student Welfare Department, indicated: “the contribution they make seems tremendously important and valuable to us. Over the years they have made generous contributions to students of the Faculty of Engineering, in careers that are related to the mining sector, as a way of giving back to the University by embodying the seal of social responsibility that our graduates have”.

At the end of the ceremony, Carlos López, said: "We deliver a message of support, joy, optimism and recognition to the scholarship students, for being part of this Chuquicamata scholarship. We feel honored to support youth, future professionals, and future colleagues. We will continue with our mission, which is now 40 years old, supporting low-income students from the University of La Serena who have high academic performance and social vulnerability."
