With the aim of guaranteeing better service to students, the annual job training program is being developed on various topics, such as hygiene and food handling, healthy living and risk prevention, among others.

At the Casino of the University of La Serena, the annual job training program for officials is being developed, with the aim of being able to provide a better and healthier service to the students and officials who feed themselves every day at the University.In In this sense, the program covers the different thematic areas of the field, such as risk prevention, first aid, hygiene and food handling, customer service and management of work stress, teamwork and healthy living. 

The nutritionist at the Casino of the University of La Serena and developer of the program, Miyoshi Shu Santander, stated that the training is designed for the well-being of all those who make up the University. ''The objective is to train the staff in terms of the flow of food production, that includes the reception, the storage of the service that is delivered here,'' she said. 

Likewise, Shu emphasized the importance of the knowledge that is shared in the various workshops held throughout the year, in order to provide nutritional support to the students who eat at the casino. ''We work with a type of food that is standardized in terms of safety, which is what we see in the Hygiene and Food Handling training, it has to be varied, which is what we look for every day with the provision of raw materials, and balanced, which is what we are looking for with the adaptation of nutritional contributions,'' he explained.

Finally, the head of University Casinos, Víctor Olivares, highlighted how the various levels of the DGAE work together for the benefit of the students. ''One of the biggest national health problems is overweight, and one of our concerns is to give what corresponds to our students and thus be consistent with the programs that our University is incorporated, which are those of healthy living and that At the same time, we coordinate them with our DGAE unit, the Department of Student Health and with Sports, so we do triangulation for the well-being of the students," he indicated.
