The prickly pears San Bartolomé de La Serena, Distrito and Femenina Azahares, surprised the attendees in a completely packed Municipal Theater.

Celebrating the anniversary month of La Serena, the XXII Tunas Gala was recently held at the city's Municipal Theater, which included the presence of the tunas from the University of La Serena (San Bartolomé de La Serena, District and Femenina Azahares), which stood out in their presentations.

It should be noted that the Tuna San Bartolomé had almost 30 musicians on stage, being one of the largest. In this sense, the founder of Tuna, Sixto Cortés, pointed out that this is due to the character of brotherhood that exists in the musical group. “The fundamental characteristic of this type of group is that they are brotherhoods and they are always in contact with the group, they do not forget, they have beautiful memories and they do not stop participating once or twice a year, which is why they see that important events are coming. and they get closer, rehearse a couple of times and connect,” said the musician.

The mayor of Serena, Roberto Jacob, expressed that the prickly pears are part of the essence of the city. “I think that during the anniversary month, prickly pears are a must, people ask for them. The thing is that the prickly pear is something happy, it brings back many memories. It is a very nice event, where people delight in it and every time we have a tuno show it is packed, so we feel very satisfied to now have the twenty-second version of this event," he expressed.

Likewise, Andrea Pardo, who attended the event, appreciated the level of the show, although she was very pleased. “It was a very nice, entertaining show, so much so that we would have liked to see a little more. We come from a family in Las Tunas, thanks to my husband and in fact our love and the children came with the prickly pears,” he stated.

Finally, Víctor García had a similar opinion, who stated that “I find this cultural demonstration that we have been able to enjoy at the Municipal Theater very interesting, especially taking into account a new commemoration of the anniversary of La Serena. “I really enjoy these shows, where universities and their students demonstrate in this way.”
