Culture, poetry and education were the topics addressed at the literary meeting.
Like every monthly event, this October the traditional Poetic Café of the University of La Serena was held, which was loaded with various current contingency topics on the island of Cuba.
Dr. Rolando Manzano Concha, who is in charge of promoting these literary meetings in the region, revealed some passages from his trip to the Caribbean country, involving the attendees with his experiences and generating a friendly and enthusiastic atmosphere, where everyone made known their different visions regarding the issues raised.
Likewise, Dr. Manzano paid tribute to the work of José Martí, a prominent Cuban writer and poet. “We have dedicated the coffee of the month of October to talking about education, about culture, about books in general, taking advantage of my recent visit to Cuba and for the same reason, we were paying tribute to the work of José Martí and we had a nice conversation . This was a more conversational café where ideas are presented, but also - as is customary - there is the space and time to listen to readings and the works of the people who attend this café," highlighted the director of the Mistralian Center for the University of La Serena.
María Elena Marambio, who was attending this literary meeting for the first time, also shared her experience of visiting the Cuban island and described this event as interesting and with high participatory and cultural content, where they manage to exchange different visions regarding a topic. “It was an excellent day and the topic of sharing our experiences was interesting, one learns more, gets ideas and by telling one's own experiences, one complements and interesting topics arise (...). I liked the idiosyncrasy and the direct theme of education, Cuba's own culture, no walls or monuments with stripes, the friendly people, always happy despite their excellent way of life. “This moment is beautiful today,” said the Basic Education teacher.
For his part, Alfonso Casanova highlighted the work and the pleasant atmosphere that the exhibitor generates through his experience and the topics addressed. “This is a group that produces synergy, there is a mystique and above all the teacher, he is a very passionate man (…), I believe that the experience he had in Cuba responds precisely to a type of way of life, of philosophy of life (...), he transmitted a message from poetry and also from experience, about what happens to inhabitants on a daily basis and from everyday life, he transmitted to us that the Cuban is a happy man, who transmits that joy and that he is happy with little and that is the great message,” concluded the auditor.
For those who missed this monthly literary meeting, the ULS Extension Directorate informs that on Thursday, November 27, at 19:00 p.m., in the Exhibition Hall of the state campus, there will be a new Poetic Café that is aimed at all types of public and free entry.
