poetic coffee 5novv

Culture, poetry and education were the topics addressed at the literary meeting.

Like every monthly event, this October the traditional Poetic Café of the University of La Serena was held, which was loaded with various current contingency topics on the island of Cuba.

Dr. Rolando Manzano Concha, who is in charge of promoting these literary meetings in the region, revealed some passages from his trip to the Caribbean country, involving the attendees with his experiences and generating a friendly and enthusiastic atmosphere, where everyone made known their different visions regarding the issues raised.

Likewise, Dr. Manzano paid tribute to the work of José Martí, a prominent Cuban writer and poet. “We have dedicated the coffee of the month of October to talking about education, about culture, about books in general, taking advantage of my recent visit to Cuba and for the same reason, we were paying tribute to the work of José Martí and we had a nice conversation . This was a more conversational café where ideas are presented, but also - as is customary - there is the space and time to listen to readings and the works of the people who attend this café," highlighted the director of the Mistralian Center for the University of La Serena.

María Elena Marambio, who was attending this literary meeting for the first time, also shared her experience of visiting the Cuban island and described this event as interesting and with high participatory and cultural content, where they manage to exchange different visions regarding a topic. “It was an excellent day and the topic of sharing our experiences was interesting, one learns more, gets ideas and by telling one's own experiences, one complements and interesting topics arise (...). I liked the idiosyncrasy and the direct theme of education, Cuba's own culture, no walls or monuments with stripes, the friendly people, always happy despite their excellent way of life. “This moment is beautiful today,” said the Basic Education teacher.

For his part, Alfonso Casanova highlighted the work and the pleasant atmosphere that the exhibitor generates through his experience and the topics addressed. “This is a group that produces synergy, there is a mystique and above all the teacher, he is a very passionate man (…), I believe that the experience he had in Cuba responds precisely to a type of way of life, of philosophy of life (...), he transmitted a message from poetry and also from experience, about what happens to inhabitants on a daily basis and from everyday life, he transmitted to us that the Cuban is a happy man, who transmits that joy and that he is happy with little and that is the great message,” concluded the auditor.

For those who missed this monthly literary meeting, the ULS Extension Directorate informs that on Thursday, November 27, at 19:00 p.m., in the Exhibition Hall of the state campus, there will be a new Poetic Café that is aimed at all types of public and free entry.

internal guides

Audiences of all ages shared and actively participated in the activity.

The sixth conference of the “Psychology and Contemporary Society” cycle, organized by the Extension Directorate in conjunction with the Department of Psychology of the University of La Serena, was transformed into an entertaining and participatory workshop. On this occasion, the academic, Mg. Pedro Bolgeri addressed the topic: “Experiences with internal guides: a path to awakening”, an activity that showed an explanatory part, another with the experiences of the public and ended with an imagery exercise that maintained an atmosphere of silence, peace and tranquility.

The activity delved into the creation of the image of an internal guide, which from a psychological point of view, according to the speaker, corresponds to a kind of archetype that is in the collective unconscious, fulfilling some very important functions. These images represent attributes, for example protection, help, guidance and mainly allow you to face difficult situations.

The academic addressed the topic from different perspectives, religions, beliefs, even incorporating news cases and films that show the existence of these figures, which they welcome and accompany in consciousness. In the event, attendees shared their experiences, dreams and thoughts, which were listened to attentively by the speaker, who subsequently carried out a guided imagery exercise that kept the audience in total silence, while an atmosphere of concentration reigned.

At the end, those attending continued asking questions and were very grateful for the information and participation. “I found the conference very clear, human and emotional, the professor was excellent, with a sympathy and approach towards us attendees, and the experience itself was wonderful because many of us had experiential experiences with our inner guides, some more than others” , commented Patricia Sepúlveda.

Regarding the objectives of the activity, Bolgeri commented that the objectives were largely met according to their planning. “It is a topic that was called, according to the testimonies, people liked it, it seems to me that it is a topic that is there, that fit well with the expectations, the searches, the needs of the people who came (…), to I don't like to come to pontificate, to make a presentation where I speak and people listen, I like to do something more interactive, so this was not a conference, rather it was a workshop where some concepts were explained, but the “The idea was for people to talk about their experience,” he said.
