This Saturday "Our Sounds" premieres on Radio Universitaria FM

The prominent regional composer Esteban Correa will be the protagonist of the debut of this new radio space, which starting at 20:00 p.m., will be broadcast on the airwaves of 94.5 FM, thanks to the financing of the National Music Fund, Diffusion line of Chilean Music Radios.

Radio Universitaria FM of the University of La Serena premieres this Saturday, July 14, its new series of programs "Our Sounds: Musical Creators of the Coquimbo Region", dedicated exclusively to the dissemination of regional authors and musicians.

This initiative, promoted by the Department of Corporate Communications of the ULS, was the winner of the 2018 National Music Fund, Chilean Music Radio Broadcasting line, within the framework of the work to celebrate the 55 years of existence of Radio Universitaria FM.

For those who tune in to the radio station, this program will be broadcast fortnightly, with the first guest this week being the prominent regional composer, Esteban Correa Astudillo.

This initiative contemplates a cycle of nine episodes in its first season, which will have a duration of 60 minutes per episode, in which an intimate dialogue will take place with the authors and composers of our area, qualifying said conversation with the sound diffusion of the musical works created by themselves.

The space will be conducted by Rodrigo Gutiérrez, in addition to the musical production of Daniela Banderas, an academic from the ULS Department of Music, who has selected the nine musical creators from our area, who represent the sound diversity that emerges in our area. territory and especially in the training and academic field existing within our University.

In relation to this new program, the Coordinator of the Department of Corporate Communications of the University of La Serena, Mg. Karina Damke expressed that "we are very happy because this program highlights the celebration of the 55th anniversary of our FM University Radio, a media that has sought to become a space for the dissemination of regional music, through its style of programming. With this project, which had the support of the 2018 National Music Fund and the work of the team of professionals who are part of Radio Universitaria, we are consolidating this work that allows us to contribute to the work of Linking with the Environment and Extension that makes our institution".
