Three exponents will refer to different aspects of the topic, in an activity open to the public and free entry.

The cycle of academic conferences “Construction of Inclusive Universities for human development” of the Raúl Bitrán N. Chair, organized by the University of La Serena, invites the community to participate in the activity “Inclusive Communication: From technology to the use of language”, on Wednesday, June 19 at 11:30 hrs. in the Aula Magna room, located at Benavente 980, La Serena.

The guests on this occasion are: Esperanza Silva, president of the Chilean Actors Corporation; Arlyn Orellana, Journalism academic at the University of La Serena; and Juan Pablo Gómez, academic at the Santo Tomás University.

In the activity, the speakers will address how the media play an essential role in the social integration of all people, modifying attitudes or influencing to normalize behaviors, through the role that journalists and communicators play in their dissemination and training work. of a respectful society capable of coexisting in difference.

On the other hand, this third conference seeks to generate a space for reflection on how technology and communication can contribute to guaranteeing equivalent opportunities for access to information for students who have some degree of disability, for people of diverse sexual conditions. , or those who come from different cultures or countries, is critical to promoting the dignity of all.

Finally, the invitation seeks to generate a space to learn about and analyze the communication and digital gaps in the current information society and what actions can be designed to ensure social inclusion.
