The educational instance is aimed mainly at musicians in training and teachers in the area. After the success achieved in the launch of the 2020 season via streaming, the ensemble belonging to the Regional Symphony Orchestra Network of the Ministry of Culture, Arts and Heritage has launched the program of activities for this second semester. These are the cycles of master classes that the musicians of the regional cast will be carrying out during the months of July and August, free of charge, and with prior registration of the applicants. The aforementioned initiative will take place every Wednesday, from 17:30 p.m. through the zoom platform, with a duration of 1 hour and a half; beginning on July 8 with French horn classes, by the brand new interpreter Gerson Pierotti. Subsequently, on the 15th it will be the turn of trumpeters Sergio Fuentes Ibarra and Cristian Monreal Cortés; to continue on the 22nd with directed flute classes, led by Gerardo Bluhm Ceballos. Finally, the audacious percussionist Pablo Pallero King, will be in charge of completing this first cycle of master classes on the 29th. For those who are responsible for starting this fascinating tour of the instrument, Gerson Pierotti shared part of the content that will be covered in classes: “We are going to talk about horn techniques, routines, and study times; learn about the beginnings and career of the brass instrumentalist, how studying at universities works and job possibilities; however, I intend this to be a hands-on class where active students can play and show what they know. I am aware that many young horn players in the region do not have a teacher; So it is a very good opportunity to participate in this instance, play, share with other horn players and acquire a lot of information about the instrument”, the outstanding interpreter commented by telephone. The educational instance is aimed mainly at musicians in training (basic, intermediate and/or advanced level) and teachers in the area; with the aim of contributing to their knowledge and musical training, empowering from this pedagogical lesson; to the work of the symphonic ensemble and to social cohesion through cultural inclusion, for the integral development of the Coquimbo Region: "This invitation is also addressed to music educators, because in Chile there are many educational institutions with musical groups, orchestras youth and children, war bands and all have many wind instruments and many of them are bronze. So it will be important and very interesting for the teachers to also sign up for the master class, because the information is never too much and it is a good opportunity to improve the technique of teaching the bronze instrument, specifically the horn, which is a super instrument. difficult to teach”, added the musician. Musical learning and virtual classroom The captivating musical proposal will last until August; month where the second cycle of master classes will take place; this time, corresponding to the string family, where those interested will be able to learn and address different study topics around the instrument. The classes will fall into the hands of Diego Álvarez Barra, next August 5 in cello; Cecilia Olmos Pujado with the teaching of the violin on the 12th; Polyana Brehmer Olivares will be in charge of instructing active and listening students on the viola on the 19th; while, Paulina Elgueta Castillo and Leonardo Godoy Sepúlveda will be the ones who will lower the curtain of this great educational-musical series, on the 21st and 26th of that month. As part of the application requirements, participants must enter www.sinfonicalaserena.cl and fill out the form displayed in the 'Online Classes' tab. Those who wish to present themselves as active students must indicate so at the time of application. 3 active participants per class will be selected and each one will have 30 minutes to present a piece of music where they will work technically and interpretively with the teacher, via zoom, so they must have a good internet connection.
