The practical part of the demonstration will include members of the public who, after drawing a drawing, will be able to receive a totally free Thai massage.

As part of the “Roadshow Thailand 2014”, this Tuesday, June 24, a series of new panoramas alluding to this culture will begin. Thai massage is one of the protagonists of this day, which will be led by two great exponents: Aldo Pfeiffer Espinoza, therapist and teacher of Thai massage, and his wife Chalika Noonin, native teacher of traditional Thai massage and graduate in public health in Bangkok, Thailand, who has a broad and attractive curriculum on this ancient discipline. This activity will take place from 10:00 a.m. in the Gabriel González Videla room of the Regional Administration, located at Prat 350, La Serena.

This year, the city of La Serena has been the chosen setting to introduce its community to all the magic of this Asian culture. His Excellency Mr. Petch-vra, ambassador of Thailand in Chile, has pointed out how through these activities, relations between both countries have been strengthened and the great reception that this cultural project has had in the area. “For this year we received the invitation from the University of La Serena and also the very valuable support from the University so that we can carry out a dissemination activity like this joint project (…) One of the main purposes of our Embassy (…) is to favor our bilateral relations between Thailand and Chile,” said the diplomat.

Furthermore, he highlighted the importance of this discipline. “Thai massage very well represents the wisdom of our ancestors, who created this discipline many years ago that can be a form of medical treatment. Furthermore, today it is a pride for us to know that many Chileans are interested in this discipline, they have traveled to Thailand, they have taken a Thai massage course from qualified teachers in Thailand and upon arriving in Chile they currently have their own schools, or the spa that they provides this type of service to our Chilean friends,” he explained.

Noonin and Pfeiffer have extensive experience in this discipline and have shared ancient knowledge in various activities. From there, their “AROKAYA” center was born, which means “without illness”, where they do “meditation classes and sessions, spiritual guidance and traditional Thai massage therapies (…) to help the population calm their mind, become aware of their life and heal their physical and spiritual illnesses,” said teacher Chalika Noonin.

The activities of “Roadshow Thailand 2014” are free entry, but with limited places. Invitations can be picked up in person at the ULS Extension Center, at Prat 446, La Serena.
