This Friday, June 20, members of the Symphony Orchestra of the University of La Serena (OSULS), will carry out the “First workshop to support and improve young members of the Illapel Youth Philharmonic Orchestra”, conceived with the objective of strengthening the advancement of students in the interpretation of musical instruments such as violin, viola, cello, double bass, flute, trumpet and trombone.

As Rodrigo Díaz, artistic technical coordinator of the OSULS, points out, “in the pedagogical field the aim is to strengthen the learning process of girls and boys in the orchestra, providing technical and musical content through the expansion of specific musical repertoires for each instrument". These workshops will be taught at the Domingo Ortiz de Zárate Lyceum.

The activity is part of the collaboration agreement between the Los Pelambres Mineral Foundation (FMLP) and the Symphony Orchestra of the University of La Serena, through the La Serena Cultural Musical Educational Foundation, which will allow the holding of three workshops, the Visit in August by the Illapel Youth Orchestra to the facilities of the ULS Music Department, promoting musical exchange with children from the Jorge Peña Hen Experimental School of Music, and the performance of two concerts in the province of Choapa by the OSULS.

The delegation will be accompanied by Andrés Vega, producer of the professional cast, who will also hold a coordination meeting with FMLP executive officials, for the coordination of the different agreed activities and the generation of future initiatives.
