In this way, the dedication of non-academic officials, para-teachers, professionals and managers in the performance of their duties is highlighted.

During the Official Opening Ceremony of the 2015 Academic Year and commemoration of the thirty-fourth anniversary of the University of La Serena, held in the Aula Magna Ignacio Domeyko, the institution recognized the dedication of the officials who completed 30 and 20 years in the performance of their work.

The officials who have provided 30 years of service to the ULS and who this year received distinctions were: Ronald Aguilera Carvajal (Dean of the Faculty of Engineering), Raúl Alvarado Alvarado (CETECFI), Laura Aracena Concha (Research Directorate), Luis Gallardo Geraldo (University Casinos), Jesica Madriaga Carvajal (Dean of the Faculty of Engineering), Rubén Rojas Jofré (Director of Teaching), Luis Rojas Rojas (Library) and Rafael Santelices Álvarez (Department of Student Health). 

While the “Office Seniority” recognition, given to officials with 20 years of service at the university, went to: Osvaldo Contreras Vega (Treasury), Christian Flores Matte (General Services), Manuel Galleguillos Godoy (General Services), Guido Gómez Godoy (General Services), Leodan Pinto Henríquez (General Services), Daniel Alfaro Alfaro (General Services), Katherine Ambler Iribarren (Computer Engineering School), Jorge Bravo Iribarren (General Services), Javiera Carrera Oyanader (University Casinos) , Patricia Castro Cornejo (Dean of the Faculty of Humanities), Paola Pizarro Jiliberto (Department of Mathematics), Angélica Rojas Munizaga (Services Directorate), Ana María Santander Tapia (Library), Pedro Valdés Urizar (Personnel Welfare), Eliana Varela Cortés (Student Welfare), Nevenka Vivanco Martí (Financial Standardization Department) and Tomás Zamorano Freire (Student Health Department).

The officials who completed 30 and 20 years in the performance of their duties and who were present at the activity received their recognition from the Vice-Rector for Economic and Administrative Affairs, Dr. Marcela Aguirre Salgado. 

''Office Merit'' Award

In addition, at the solemn ceremony the Award for “Office Merit” was presented, which was awarded on this occasion to Norma Bolvarán Olivares (Unit of Titles and Degrees). The distinction, established with the objective of providing adequate and timely recognition to state campus officials, was presented by the Rector of the ULS, Dr. Nibaldo Avilés Pizarro.
