Its purpose is to promote the development of workers' work skills.

The Human Resources Directorate reported that, on November 22, the 2018 Bipartite Training Committee of the University of La Serena was established.

The Bipartite Training Committee is an organization formed by representatives of the workers and the institution, who are established with the purpose of promoting the development of the labor skills of the workers, in order to contribute to an adequate level of employment, improve the productivity of workers and the institution, and the quality of processes and products.

Among the main functions of the Committee are: agree on the institution's occupational training program(s), evaluate the training program(s) and advise the institution's Management on training matters.

The organization was made up of Pablo Sánchez Bustos, Patricia Astroza Madariaga and Juan Madariaga Cáceres, as representatives of the institution; Karina Núñez Varela and Domingo Vega Toro, as representatives of the unionized workers; Luis Carrasco Castro, as representative of non-unionized workers; Pilar Bonilla Meneses, Héctor García Leal and Rodrigo Rosales Rojas, as substitutes for the representatives of the institution; and Verónica Huerta Romero and Carlos Lagos Morgan, as substitutes for the workers' representatives. The Internal Training Coordinator is María Graciela Zúñiga Leblanc.
