As part of its extensive artistic programming, the 2021 version of the XXXVI Musical Encounters of La Serena invites the entire community, musicians, teachers, self-taught people and those who enjoy symphonic work to participate, register and connect with the online and free activities that is being organized by the University of La Serena Symphony Orchestra.

This Thursday, January 14, the first Thematic Talk will be held based on 'Contemporary Music in Chile: Insights into various current musical aesthetics'; which will feature the exhibition of the first OSULS bassoon, Alevi Peña Jiménez; Álvaro Gallegos, journalist and prominent music popularizer; Esteban Correa, one of the most important composers of his generation and with the greatest presence in concerts in Chile and abroad, and José Luis Urquieta, 1st oboe OSULS and one of the main promoters of current music created by Chilean composers, who will be in charge of presenting and moderating this amazing conversation.

The second instance is scheduled for next Thursday, January 21, and is titled 'Preparation for Orchestral Auditions', which will be aimed at instrument students of different ages with the aim of sharing experiences from the prism of a performer, conductor or evaluator in auditions, know how to prepare and face this situation throughout the career. His driving idea was to take advantage of the musical capital installed and developed in La Serena, making visible the musical life around the legacy of Jorge Peña Hen, crystallized in youth music, university musical life and the rich summer tourist environment present in the capital. regional.
