They give a talk on Human Rights and Gender Perspective

Based on human dignity as a fundamental principle, the academic of the Department. of Legal Sciences and the ULS Law degree, Mg. Elizabeth Escobar Toro addressed Human Rights from a Gender perspective.

The 35th talk of the second cycle on Human Rights, held by the University of La Serena, took place before about 4 spectators. On this occasion, the exhibition was in charge of Mg. Elizabeth Escobar, academic of the Dept. of Cs. Legal and ULS Law studies, who recalled the fundamental principle of Human Rights and shared in depth relevant aspects about the cultural and legislative evolution of Human Rights from a gender perspective.

At the end of the talk, the speaker responded live to each of the questions asked by the audience through the chat. In this space, for example, she discussed the importance of cultural change to achieve gender equality according to the roles that women currently play in our society.

On the other hand, he also reflected on how the state of pandemic helped us make visible the difficulties and shortcomings that we still have to resolve in legislative matters.
