The initiative, which is being carried out for the third consecutive year, is organized by the Human Resources Department.

Between next Monday, July 21 and Friday, July 25, the children of officials and academics of the University of La Serena will be able to participate in an entertaining program of activities, organized spatially to enjoy the second week of winter vacation.

This is the “Winter 2014 Entertaining Vacations” project, promoted by the Human Resources Department of the ULS, with the sponsorship of Caja Los Andes, and which will allow its development for free for the third consecutive year.

Within the framework of the activities, a complete panorama has been designed that includes the holding of sports days, cultural and recreational activities.

To date, 44 children between 5 and 12 years old have already registered - exhausting the quotas allocated for the activity - and they will have monitors to guide and accompany them in each of the events prepared for this occasion.

In this regard, the director of Human Resources, Héctor Bugueño Egaña, stated that “The University of La Serena, postulates the construction of authentic communities, the entertaining vacations, organized by the units assigned to the Human Resources Directorate, are an evident effort to deepen the concept of a university community; In this context, the sons and daughters of officials and academics have the opportunity to live in the places where their parents work, participate actively and inclusively in cultural, sports and recreational activities. It is in this scenario where boys and girls contribute to building community, live interesting experiences and learn for life.".

The initiative is part of the Competitive Funds project delivered by Caja Los Andes, postulated by María Graciela Zúñiga Leblanc, in charge of Internal Training, and Mary Carmen Contreras Urbina, social worker from the Welfare Department of the University of La Serena.
