The call to participate is open until April 30.

The University of La Serena, in collaboration with the Regional Government of Coquimbo, launched a call that invites amateur and professional photographers to participate in the Night Photography Contest "Lights and Shadows: Challenge to Light Pollution." This initiative seeks to generate awareness and citizen action regarding the growing problem of light pollution in the area.

The main objective of the contest, part of the "IluminAconciencia" ULS project, is to create a visual repository that shows how urban development has contributed to the increase in light pollution and the impact of night skies in the region. This becomes a unique opportunity for the community to capture the reality of this environmental problem through photography.

The call is open to participants of all ages, from children to adults, and prizes will be awarded to unpublished works that best reflect the theme of light pollution in the city and its surroundings. The photographs may be both analog and digital, as long as the veracity of the record is respected.

Participants will be able to send their works until April 30, 2024 via email This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.. The complete contest rules are available at illuminaconciencia.userena.digital.
