Event was held to raise awareness in the community about Gender and Human Rights

Various activities were carried out on the Bongard campus within the framework of a fair where students from different majors participated along with academics.mic@sy officials.

With the “Gender and Human Rights Fair”, the University of La Serena aimed to visualize and raise awareness among university students about the relevance of eradicating violence against women. The event, held on the Isabel Bongard campus, included the creation of a community canvas, the creation of fanzines and a discussion.

The activities had a high participation of students from the Pedagogy in Early Childhood Education and Pedagogy in General Basic Education majors, as well as officials and academics from the Department of Education and the Department of Equity and Gender.

Verónica Antiñirre, in charge of the Human Resources Risk Prevention Department, who works at the Bongard campus, said that “it was a very striking way to raise awareness, the color of the canvas caught my attention and I went to see it, a nice initiative.”

For his part, the Coordinator of AGDDFI, Mg. Cristian Blanco stated that this is one of the various planned actions and milestones to be carried out this year on topics such as Gender, Human Rights, Citizen Training, Inclusion and Disability and Interculturality, “which focus on highlighting civic and social responsibility. and culture of good living, in harmony and respect for sexual and gender diversity among the members of the university community, and a culture of non-violence against women in social and human relationships," he concluded.
