Strategies

PEACE 03

Strategies

The program works through two strategies: Preparation in Secondary Education and Support in Higher Education.

Secondary Education Preparation (PEM)

The Program focuses its work on the development of transversal skills, in alignment with the 3rd and 4th grade curriculum, promoting comprehensive management of it through the training of cognitive, intrapersonal and interpersonal competencies, from a comprehensive support approach. Likewise, it seeks to leave learning and capacities installed in the respective establishments, which allow ensuring the development of the students' training trajectories, through support from an advisory approach.

To develop this component, the teams of the Higher Education Institutions in agreement will develop actions directly with all the students of the respective course and, if considered necessary or pertinent, they will also do so with the technical teams of the high schools, teachers and counselors. for the implementation of the school curriculum.

The required actions must be translated into various activities designed by the respective Higher Education Institution, focused on students in 3rd and 4th year high school courses of each Educational Establishment (EE).

Qualification Requirements

  • Satisfactorily pass the pace preparation stage.
  • Have completed the 3rd and 4th year of a pace educational establishment.
  • Have graduated within the 15% of the best grade ranking score of their establishment, or obtain a grade ranking score equal to or greater than 696 points at the national level.
  • Take the university selection test (PSU), both mandatory, plus one elective.

It has 3 essential components:

Diagnosis and induction

Prepare the different actors involved in the program, as well as determine the different needs of students from different educational establishments.

Development of capabilities

Actions will be developed to reinforce competencies and skills to be developed by students, to reduce the gap between secondary and higher education.

Vocational Exploration and Admission to Higher Education

Dissemination and information actions will be carried out on the PSU registration and submission processes, Admission to Higher Education, Generation of the Weighted PACE score (PPP) and application for State student benefits.

Support in Higher Education (AES)

This component aims to achieve the academic achievement of young people in the PACE program entering higher education. To this end, devices must be implemented to support and monitor PACE students admitted to one of the Institutions participating in the Program, with a focus on the development of autonomy to achieve academic results and retention in higher education.

The actions must be directed at first-year students of higher education, admitted from the PACE Program through guaranteed space or through regular admission.

Induction

Process that is focused so that the inclusion process of all students in Higher Education is adequate.

Diagnosis

Actions aimed at knowing the academic and psychoeducational needs of students.

Academic Support

Design and implementation of academic support for PACE students, which develops autonomous learning, reinforcement and/or leveling capacities in them.

Psychoeducational Accompaniment

Create and implement devices for psychoeducational support and accompaniment for the development and strengthening of academic and psychosocial skills that enhance student retention in Higher Education.
