The activity was carried out for the young people belonging to the Academic Vice-Rectorship program of the House of Higher Studies.
The I Want to Be a Professional in Education (QSPE) program team, belonging to the OAME ULS Support Office, through its Inclusive Access axis, carried out the initial day of the vocational interest module with the aim of guiding students who are studying the program.
It should be remembered that the objective of QSPE is to provide preparation opportunities to fourth-year students who demonstrate interest in choosing careers in pedagogy, safeguarding access to higher education and their permanence in the university, through the various training programs. support, academic accompaniment and strengthening of the teaching vocation, in coherence with the Educational Model of the University of La Serena.
Regarding the activity, Elizabeth Fuentes, Head of the OAME ULS Inclusive Access Axis, expressed: “the meeting was characterized by the close connection with the students, highlighting the importance of social relationships, links, support networks and containment in such important stages. such as the transition from secondary to tertiary education, the above framed in the choice of a career in pedagogy as a life project in the academic field, knowing and exploring the tools that will provide us with the development of skills and competencies to be able to make such an important decision. ”.
On this occasion, the program team met with the students belonging to QSPE 2021, to learn about the learning route of one of the accompaniment, which has the work objectives: to implement induction activities for 4th grade students. medium in relation to the operation of the QSPE program. Promote and strengthen self-knowledge in students, which allows them to develop intrapersonal skills to accompany the process of identity formation and vocational exploration. As well as that they know and understand the importance of creating a life plan, strengthening autonomy in personal educational processes and of course generating spaces for reflection and conversation.
