Expanding international relations for a student and academic exchange is the main slogan of the collaborative extension that was celebrated with the signing of the Complementary Collaboration Act within the Framework Agreement between the University of La Serena and the National University of San Juan (Argentina) , an instance that enhances the bilateral relations between both institutions that date back more than 15 years.
In an official ceremony, the Rector of the University of La Serena, Dr. Nibaldo Avilés Pizarro, the Dean of the Faculty of Social and Economic Sciences, Dr. Luperfina Rojas Escobar and the Dean of the Faculty of Social Sciences of the National University of San Juan, Mr. Raúl Sohar García, signed the document that confers greater academic linkage in favor of joint challenges and curricular enhancement.
The Dean of FACSE, Dr. Luperfina Rojas, stressed the importance of this new alliance that allows for the formalization of already present relationships. “We now intend to strengthen these ties in terms of research and formulation of joint projects on various topics of bilateral integration, between Chile and Argentina. “We want to promote the realization of postgraduate and postgraduate programs between both faculties, which allow us to contribute with the improvement of academics, students and graduates of both institutions and continue collaborating in Latin American integration and the brotherhood of both nations,” she stated.
For Rector Avilés, this agreement allows joint ideas to be materialized and concretized. “With this agreement we can honor tradition and build a significant improvement in academic matters. This link with the National University of San Juan is an honor for us,” he said.
Likewise, the Dean of the Faculty of Social Sciences of the National University of San Juan, Mr. Raúl Sohar, highlighted the collaborative work. “Today it is a pleasure to be able to sign an instrument that will allow us to continue strengthening this relationship that has been going on for quite some time between both academic institutions. We have raised the brotherhood of peoples as our central objective. Furthermore, this act contemplates comprehensive work with the aim of growing together and developing as university institutions,” he declared.
The signing took place this Friday, August 30, in the Conference Room of the Enrique Molina Garmendia Campus of the University of La Serena with the presence of university authorities, academics, students and special guests.
At the end of the ceremony, the second version of the Lecture on “Public Policies and Sustainable Development” was held, given by Mg. Ricardo Coca, with the exhibition “The Economy of Information, Knowledge and Social Capital, towards a Development Agenda”.
