The objective of the activity was to analyze and coordinate each of the procedures implemented to improve the processes of attention to students associated with institutional and ministerial benefits.

With the objective of analyzing the work of the social workers who work in the Student Welfare Department, in charge of administering each of the benefits received by the students of the University of La Serena, the Rector of the ULS, Dr. Nibaldo Avilés Pizarro , met with the entire team of professionals from this Unit.

The purpose of the initiative was also to learn about the progress of each of the processes and the management that has been developed and implemented to optimally serve students who make use of both institutional and ministerial student aid.

In the framework of a breakfast meeting, the professionals expressed themselves regarding the initiatives already implemented, the procedures established for the attention of students and the specific tasks that each one performs. As well as the organization of the various processes that the Student Welfare Department has to carry out at the beginning of this semester.

“We have a team of professionals that was reinforced in the last year to better serve our students; a human group coordinated to respond in an efficient and timely manner to the needs of the students. This effort indicates that this administration is responding to all those commitments that we have acquired with a view to improving our management,” emphasized the Rector of the ULS, Dr. Nibaldo Avilés.

Meanwhile, the director of the DGAE, Mg. Miguel Zuleta highlighted that “the team of social workers is working on the processes with great enthusiasm and professionalism to meet all the students' requirements.”
