renewal benefits

Every year the Ministry of Education reviews the background of students who have a benefit granted by MINEDUC, and evaluates compliance with the necessary requirements for their maintenance for the following years.

The General Directorate of Student Affairs (DGAE) notifies ULS students that the 2018 MINEDUC Benefits Renewal process has begun, which begins on November 9 and runs until January 12, 2018.

By law, students who in 2017 benefited from the FONDO SOLIDARIO DE CREDITO UNIVERSITARIO (FSCU) must participate. They must complete the benefit renewal form and submit documentation that supports the socioeconomic situation of their family group.

How is it done?

  • Enter your student page on the Phoenix platform and complete the 2018 MINEDUC Benefits Renewal Form.
  • Confirm the form, print a copy, and gather supporting socioeconomic documentation.
  • Make an appointment with the Campus Social Assistant in Agenda Online and submit the printed form plus the documents.
  • Enroll in the year 2018 within the deadlines.

How are the FREE and SCHOLARSHIPS renewed for the year 2018?

If in 2018 you study within the formal duration of the same degree at this University, it is enough that you enroll and be a regular student within the established deadlines. In case of renewing scholarships, remember that you must also meet the academic requirement (annual performance). If this year is your last year with FREE or SCHOLARSHIP and in 2018 you must continue your studies, you must make FUAS 2018 APPLICATION to obtain FSCU or CAE. You must also apply for FUAS 2018 in the event that you only have 1 semester of allocation of these benefits left and you must continue studying the second semester of 2018.

Compliance with the deadlines and delivery of documentation is the sole responsibility of each student. Remember that the allocation of Gratuity and other benefits is made by MINEDUC based on compliance with the requirements established in current regulations.
