The elective that will be taught through the Digital Campus called Development and Management of the creative process, considers four pedagogical hours per week and is aimed at all students of the University.

Starting in the second semester, students at the University of La Serena will be able to access the elective “Development and Management of the creative process”, a completely online subject that is now available on the Digital Campus. http://campus.userena.digital.

For Mauricio Castillo, Coordinator of the Department of Extracurricular Activities, this initiative, “I was pleasantly surprised by the result. The work behind the development of this workshop exceeds expectations, a very well carried out work, we had several meetings in which our programs and the work of Digital Campus were adapted in a very interesting way. So we hope that the results are the same,” he says, adding that “the offer has been very well received by the students, who even had to support it with a second theory,” he assured.

For the Director of the DGAE, Mg. Miguel Zuleta, the main objective is “to give the best to our students, so that they do well and become good professionals. This course enhances creativity, is very well directed and will help students develop new skills that will be useful to them when they become professionals,” he noted.

The elective, which has four teaching hours per week, seeks to enable students to develop skills that allow them to generate creative solutions to the various situations they must face, diversifying their possibilities for creating and implementing ideas in their respective areas of knowledge.

Mauricio Juica, psychologist by profession and tutor of the subject, hopes that the students “experience the elective as something entertaining and challenging. The fact that it is 100% e-learning does not take away from its demands, and at the same time it includes several activities that involve playing, going outside, 'acting crazy'... seeing things from another perspective and, above all, creating," he explained. .

Likewise, the professional valued that the “University has opportunities to do innovative things for students and that it is open to new ways of teaching. I thank the team of professionals at Campus Digital and the DGAE for making this course possible.”

Finally, the Head of Digital Campus, Humberto Farías, indicated that “this subject is relevant in two dimensions, first it confirms the University of La Serena as a leading institution in the creation of educational content dictated in e-learning modality at the national, priority objective of the Digital Campus. And it is also evidence of the concern to offer its students different modalities that allow them to develop their training process within a framework of quality and flexibility,” he assured.

This Saturday, April 30, the members will meet to present “Harmonías de un nuevo amanecer”, a musical work that contains a variety of rhythms such as pasodobles, cuecas and other Latin American sounds.

It is part of the serenense history to see in its streets the haunting of university punks who cheer people up with Spanish songs and sounds. Among them, the first tuna made up of women in the Coquimbo Region stands out, the Tuna Femenina Azahares of the University of La Serena, a group that will celebrate its twelfth anniversary with the presentation of its first record called “Harmonías de un nuevo amanecer”. this Saturday, April 30 at Club La República, in La Serena.

The head of the Tuna Femenina Azahares, Camila Rivera, invited the entire community to participate in this event. "On Saturday, April 30, we have the launch of the first album by the Tuna Femenina Azahares from the University of La Serena, financed under an FDI project from the Ministry of Education, so we invite you all," said the member of this group dependent on the Department of Extracurricular Activities of the DGAE.

After a long recording process in "Estudio 14", located in the regional capital and whose production was in charge of the sound engineer Mauricio Lermanda, the album brings rhythms typical of Spanish art, where voices and instruments stand out, as well as some Latin American ones such as joropos, Peruvian and national waltzes such as the cueca. “In this first album we wanted to incorporate a variety of rhythms for all tastes. When we made the selection of themes, we remember the birthdays, marriages, celebrations of so many people who have not hired. Well, now they will be able to have those songs in hand and remember those beautiful moments that they spent with our music”, explained the musical director, Sylvia González.

In addition to presenting and promoting the musical album, the attendees will also get to know and be part of the traditional acts of the art of tunar, which have been maintained and proliferated in different countries of Europe and America for more than two centuries.
